Measure the actual thickness of the tread tile you are laying, not the nominal figure on the box. For a 9mm tile choose the 9mm profile, which finishes 20mm high overall; for an 11mm tile choose the 11mm profile at 22mm overall. A profile that sits fractionally below the tile face is acceptable, but one that stands proud will catch feet, so if you are between sizes pick the shallower one. Each step needs a length equal to the tread width plus a cutting margin: one 2.8m length covers two treads up to 1.4m wide or three up to 900mm. Allow one end cap per open step end.
