Removing backing was a challenge at first. I ended up using a sharp knife an cut backing along both short edges of binding then down middle lengthwise. lifted backing from middle and gentle pulled to short end and then down long edge. Putting on stairs was a piece of cake and they look great. Received complements. I cut a piece of wood as a spacer to center carpet and used an adjustable square set at 3/4 of an inch to get distance from front of stair tread. Hope this helps ors.

Would have given 5 stars, but had to knock one star off as cellophane backing was extremely difficult to remove. It would keep breaking into multiple pieces which made it tough to know if it was all completely off before installing. Or than that product is great!

Great stair treads. Stick on is easy to use. Easy to wash and relay. Color is vibrant. Like that they can be washed in regular washing machine and relayed. I do not think they rewash as many times as indicated on packaging. But still a good product to soften stair sounds and allow pets to go up and down without slipping or falling.
