Tile Edge Trim Profiles
A cut tile edge is fragile. Left exposed, the glaze chips at the corner, the biscuit absorbs water, and what should be a crisp line turns ragged within a year. A tile edge trim caps that edge in metal or PVC and protects it permanently.
Straight edge profiles give a square, contemporary finish flush with the tile face. Round edge profiles present a gentle curve, which is kinder on shins and skirting-height corners and is the traditional choice in bathrooms. Quadrant and cove profiles close internal corners where tile meets bath, worktop or floor.
Sizing is driven by tile thickness: the trim leg sits under the tile in the adhesive bed, and the upstand must match the tile depth so the finished faces are level. Get that right and the trim disappears into the job.
