Description
A burst hydraulic hose empties across a workshop floor in seconds, so a 120 litre spill kit needs to sit within arm's reach of the risk. Once spilt oil reaches a gully it stops being a mess and becomes a reportable environmental incident. This kit holds enough absorbent to soak up 120 litres of spilt liquid and wheels straight to the spill.
Each kit is supplied in a yellow 120 litre two-wheeled plastic bin. The bin doubles as the container for contaminated waste once the clean-up is finished. Inside are five absorbent socks at 8cm x 3m, fifty absorbent pads at 40cm x 50cm, three disposal bags with ties and an instruction sheet. The socks ring the spill and the pads soak up the body of the liquid. Refill packs carry the same five socks and forty pads, supplied without the bin.
Why UK sites choose this kit
- Matched to your liquids – four absorbent formulations cover general maintenance fluids, oils and fuels, and aggressive acids and alkalis.
- One-person response – the two-wheeled 120 litre bin rolls to the incident, so clean-up does not wait for a second pair of hands.
- Contain, then absorb – five 3-metre socks ring the spill and hold it back from drains and machinery while the pads do the work.
- Waste handled on site – three disposal bags with ties, plus the bin itself, keep saturated absorbent contained for licensed collection.
- Restock without replacing – bin-free refill packs return the kit to service at well under the cost of a complete kit.
Beyond the workshop, these kits are held in warehouse goods-in bays, fuel and oil storage compounds, vehicle maintenance pits and plant yards. Construction site compounds use them wherever pollution prevention forms part of a site permit or environmental management system. Facilities managers, transport operators and site foremen typically keep one kit per risk area and a refill in the stores. Use the fitting instructions, specification table and sizing guide further down this page to match the right formulation to the liquids you handle.
