Stair treads look good on my stairs. Easy to remove film backing. I followed anor posters suggestion and loosened corners and all edges. I slid a knife (not sharp edge) along edges and was easy to pull film off in one piece. Can be moved after placing if alignment isn't correct. Waiting for my 16yr old grand dog to visit and try stairs since I bought them for him, it was hard for him to go up wood stairs.

I peeled off backing to uncover slightly sticky surface on bottom, dusted off my stairs, centered them and just kind of smood them down, and they haven't budged! they look great and feel wonderful on my feet. More importantly, they give my dog traction getting up stairs.

You have to peel plastic off back of each one to expose "sticky" backing and it takes a bit of time as plastic is sown into carpet tread. Orwise a nice soft gray color and soft underfoot
