Description
Heavy duty three-channel cable protector ramp with a hard rubber black body and a hinged yellow PVC cover. Cables, pipes and hoses drop into the channels, the lid closes over them, and vehicles cross on an anti-slip tread. Rated to a 24 tonne load capacity, so it handles heavy site and event traffic.
Why use a channel cable ramp
- Removes a serious trip hazard where cables have to cross a route
- Protects cables, pipes and hoses from crushing under vehicle and foot traffic
- Hinged lid lifts for access without disturbing the run
- Anti-slip tread on the cover for pedestrians crossing on foot
- Male and female ends join multiple units into long continuous runs
- High-visibility yellow cover stands out in a busy environment
Typical applications
- Festivals, outdoor events and temporary power runs
- Construction sites and site access roads
- Warehouses, depots and loading areas
- Car parks and vehicle crossing points
- Film, broadcast and production locations
- Anywhere cables or hoses must cross a trafficked route

Installation
Lay the ramp across the route where the cables need to cross, on a reasonably flat surface. Lift the hinged cover, lay cables, pipes or hoses into the channels without forcing or over-filling them, then close the cover. To extend the run, butt further units end to end so the male and female ends engage. No tools are needed, and the run dismantles just as quickly when the job finishes.
Maintenance
Brush or hose down to clear grit and mud, particularly from the channels and the hinge. Check the cover closes fully before returning the crossing to use.
Suitability and limitations
Suitable for temporary and semi-permanent cable crossings indoors and outdoors. Cable diameters must fit within the channels — channel 1 is 45 x 50mm, channels 2 and 3 are 45 x 55mm. Do not force oversized cables or overfill a channel, as the cover must close flush to work safely. The 24 tonne figure is a load capacity for the unit, not a guarantee for every surface or loading pattern; site it on sound, level ground and keep it clear of turning or braking traffic. This is cable protection, not a load-rated road plate.
Delivery
Sold as a single ramp unit, made to order. Order the number of units needed for the crossing width — they join end to end. Get in touch if you need advice on channel sizing for your cables.
