Order enough main mats to cover the stall floor area, allowing for the standard 1.8m x 1.2m mat size. Add a Ramp Long Edge or Ramp Short Edge section wherever the matted floor meets a doorway or open edge that a horse or wheelbarrow crosses, choosing the length that matches that edge. Joint sections finish an internal edge where mats meet a wall without a ramp, and Corner sections finish the internal corners of the mat run. A typical 12ft x 12ft loose box needs approximately 6 main mats plus edging components to suit the door position; a 10ft x 10ft stable typically needs around 4 main mats.

Installation, use and care

Lay mats onto a clean, level, well-drained concrete or compacted base, interlocking each mat's jigsaw edge into the next and butting ramp and joint sections against doorways and walls. No adhesive is required for a standard loose-lay stable installation. Sweep or muck out daily as normal; hose down periodically and allow to dry, and check occasionally that interlocked edges have not been lifted by persistent pawing.
