Description
A heavy duty loading dock buffer that takes the impact of a reversing lorry so your dock edge doesn't. Mounted at bumper height along the face of the dock, it absorbs the repeated knocks that otherwise spall concrete, crack brickwork and shorten the life of the whole loading bay.
Key benefits
- Anti-aging polyurethane body absorbs impact without going brittle in cold or wet conditions.
- Moulded around a perforated steel reinforcing plate, so the fixings pull against steel rather than the polymer alone.
- Supplied in 1000mm lengths that can be butted end to end to protect a full dock face.
- Three profile sizes, so the depth of protection can be matched to the vehicles actually using the bay.
- Yellow body stands out against grey concrete, marking the dock edge as well as protecting it.
Applications
- Warehouse and distribution centre loading docks
- Retail and supermarket delivery bays
- Cold store and food distribution docks
- Factory goods-in and goods-out bays
- Walls, columns and corners in vehicle manoeuvring areas
Specifications
- Length: 1000mm
- Profile sizes: 90 x 35mm, 120 x 50mm, or 80 x 100mm
- Material: anti-aging polyurethane
- Reinforcement: moulded perforated steel plate
- Weight: 4.0kg (90 x 35mm), 6.0kg (120 x 50mm), 7.0kg (80 x 100mm)
Available options
- 90 x 35mm — slim profile for light impact and tight clearances
- 120 x 50mm — general purpose depth for most delivery bays
- 80 x 100mm — deepest projection, for heavier or more frequent impacts
Usage
Set the buffers at the height the vehicle bumper or trailer bed actually strikes, which is usually determined by the dock leveller and the fleet using the bay. Fix through the steel backing into sound concrete with suitable anchors, and butt lengths end to end where a longer run is needed. Inspect periodically for loose fixings and for polyurethane that has been compressed or torn, and replace individual lengths rather than waiting for the dock edge to take damage.
Purchasing information
Sold individually as a 1000mm length. Prices shown include VAT. Choose your profile size above; order the number of lengths needed to cover your dock face.
