LED Diffuser Strip for Florentine LED Stair Nosing | 2.5m | White or Grey

This diffuser strip clips into the LED channel of our Florentine LED stair nosing. It closes the open underside of the channel, so you see one smooth line of light along each step rather than a row of bright LED dots. It comes in 2.5m lengths to match the nosing and in two colours: opal white for the brightest, most even glow, and grey for a softer, more subdued light. It is for tilers, electricians and homeowners finishing an illuminated staircase who want a cleaner look, particularly where the stairs are seen from below or at an angle.

Why it works

It hides the LED dots

Most LED strips carry individual chips spaced along the tape. In an open channel those chips show as separate hotspots on the riser and are visible to anyone looking up the stairs. The diffuser sits between the strip and the room and spreads the light, so the riser is washed evenly and the source itself is hidden.

It closes and finishes the channel

With the diffuser fitted, the underside of the nosing reads as a finished edge rather than an open slot. It also keeps dust off the strip, which matters on stairs because dirt collects at every step edge.

Two colours, two moods

Opal white lets through the most light and suits hallways and stairs used as the main route at night. Grey cuts the brightness and gives a more discreet glow for hotels, bars and living areas where the stairs are lit for effect.

Specifications

Choosing the right option

White or grey: choose white if the lighting is there for safety, because it gives the most light onto each riser. Choose grey if the stairs are lit mainly for atmosphere, or if white diffusers would look too bright against dark tiles.

Quantity: order one diffuser for every length of nosing. Both come in 2.5m lengths, so each nosing length has a matching diffuser, and offcuts from one step can be used on the next in the same way you cut the nosing.

Strip brightness: a diffuser always reduces light output a little, and grey reduces it more. If you are choosing the LED strip at the same time, allow for that when you pick the brightness.

Installation, use & care

Fit the nosing and LED strip first, and test the strip before fitting the diffuser. Cut the diffuser to the same length as the nosing with a fine-tooth saw or sharp cutter, then press the centre stem into the channel along its length so the flat face closes the opening. To reach the strip later, ease the diffuser out from one end. Wipe with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners, which can dull the surface.

FAQ

Do I need a diffuser?
No. The nosing works without one. A diffuser is worth fitting if you want an even line of light with no visible LED dots, or if the underside of the step is on show.

Does it fit other LED nosings?
It is sold to suit our Florentine LED stair nosing. We cannot confirm the fit for other makes of channel.

Is the LED strip included?
No. This listing is for the diffuser only. The nosing and the LED strip are sold separately.
