Description
A paper notice taped to a door lasts about one wet afternoon. This lockable outdoor noticeboard seals your notices behind clear acrylic glazing in a satin silver anodised aluminium case, so rotas, notices and menus stay legible and stay put. A rubber seal runs the full perimeter of the door, the door locks with a key, and the magnetic white steel back panel lets you change a sheet in seconds without pins or tape. Four sizes run from A4 to A1, all wall mounted, all delivered assembled.
Why it works
The case is built from a 45mm aluminium extrusion with a satin silver anodised finish. Anodising is an electrochemical treatment rather than a paint coat, so the surface does not chip or flake off the corners the way powder-coated steel does, and it will not rust on a coastal site. That extrusion depth also keeps the door flat across the wider A1 span instead of bowing away from the seal.
Weather protection comes from the rubber seal set into the inside face of the door. Turn the key and the door pulls up against that seal on all four sides, keeping driving rain out of the 10mm internal cavity. The supplier rates the case as waterproof, for indoor and outdoor use.
Inside, the back panel is a white magnetic steel sheet. You post notices with the button magnets supplied rather than pins or tape, so sheets lift off clean and the panel does not fill with holes over a few seasons.
- Lockable acrylic door – a keyed lock and two keys keep notices tamper-proof in a public entrance.
- Full-perimeter rubber seal – closes the door against water so the 10mm interior stays dry outdoors.
- Magnetic white back panel – change notices in seconds with the magnets supplied, no pins or tape.
- Anodised aluminium frame – a 45mm extrusion that will not rust, chip or flake like painted steel.
- Delivered assembled – hanging kit, magnets and keys in the box, ready to fix to the wall.
Where it's used
School and nursery entrances for term dates and safeguarding contacts. Village halls, churches and community centres for hire rates and events. Parish council land: allotments, playing fields, car parks and cemeteries. GP surgeries and pharmacies. Sports and leisure centres. Housing association blocks and student accommodation for fire procedures and contractor notices. Farm shops, campsites and marinas, where notices sit outdoors all year.

Choosing the right option
Size the case by how many A4 sheets you need on show at once, not by the wall space you happen to have. A4 holds one sheet at 397 x 310mm. A3 holds two side by side at 520 x 397mm. A2 holds four in a two-by-two grid at 694 x 520mm. A1 holds eight at 941 x 694mm, and it is what most schools and parish councils choose.
Two things follow from that choice. The A1 has two locks, top and bottom, where the smaller three have one central lock; the second lock stops the longer door edge lifting in wind. Weight climbs from 2.6kg to 9.55kg, so check your fixings suit the wall.
Installation, use and care
The case arrives assembled. Hold it on the wall in portrait or landscape, mark through the fixing holes in the back, and drill. The supplied kit covers standard masonry; substitute suitable fixings for plasterboard, timber cladding or render. Fit at a height that suits readers. Open the door with the key, place sheets on the magnetic panel, and close firmly so the seal compresses evenly. Clean the acrylic with a soft damp cloth and mild detergent only, because solvents and abrasive pads will craze it.
Frequently asked questions
Can it stay outside all year? Yes. The door carries a rubber seal on all four sides and the supplier rates the case as waterproof for indoor and outdoor use. The anodised aluminium frame will not rust, which matters most on exposed and coastal sites.
Is the glazing glass? No, it is clear acrylic. That makes the door lighter and much less hazardous than glass if it is struck, which is why acrylic is the norm at head height in schools.
How do notices attach? With the button magnets supplied, onto the white magnetic back panel. No pins, tape or adhesive, so the panel stays clean and sheets change in seconds.
Can I mount it landscape? Yes, in every size. Orientation is decided when you drill the fixings, not when you order.
