Description

A 5 metre length of right-angle impact foam that turns a hard, unmarked steel edge into something a forklift mast, pallet corner or shoulder can meet without damage. The profile wraps a 90-degree corner with a 47mm leg on each face, and the black and yellow striping makes the obstruction obvious under warehouse lighting.

Why it is specified

  • Cushions impacts on columns, girders, racking uprights and low steelwork.
  • Black and yellow striping to DIN 4844 marks the hazard as well as padding it.
  • Self-adhesive backing means no drilling, welding or fixings into the structure.
  • A 5 metre length covers a long run or several columns from one piece.
  • Cuts cleanly with a sharp knife, so awkward lengths are made up on site.

Where it is used

  • Distribution depots, warehouses and loading bays
  • Multi-storey and underground car park columns
  • Vehicle workshops, garages and MOT bays
  • Plant rooms, production lines and machine guarding edges

Construction

Flexible, age-resistant polyurethane foam moulded as a right-angle section with a striped outer face. Uncut surfaces are completely non-porous, so dirt and moisture do not soak in. A pressure-sensitive adhesive strip runs along both inner faces under a release liner.

Specification

Material Flexible polyurethane (PU) foam
Profile Right angle
Height 47mm
Width 47mm
Length 5000mm
Colour Black and yellow, to DIN 4844
Fixing Self-adhesive backing
Fire performance Fire resistant to UL 94
Temperature range -40°C to 90°C
Resistance UV and solvent resistant, silicone and CFC free

Sizes

This is the large right-angle profile in a 5 metre length, intended for long runs. Use 1 metre lengths for small to medium installations.

Installation

The surface must be dry, smooth, dust free and degreased – the bond is permanent once made, so position the profile before pressing it home. Peel the release liner progressively rather than all at once, press the full length of both faces firmly against the corner, and cut to length with a sharp knife or fine-toothed saw.

Maintenance

Wipe with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Replace any section that has been torn or compressed by a heavy impact, since crushed foam no longer absorbs energy.

Suitability and limitations

This is impact cushioning and hazard marking, not a structural barrier – it will not stop a moving vehicle and is no substitute for steel column protection where forklift strikes are frequent. The adhesive needs a smooth, sound substrate; it will not hold on flaking paint, rust or rough concrete. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Compliance

Black and yellow hazard striping to DIN 4844. Fire resistant to UL 94. Free of silicone and CFCs.

Ordering

Supplied as one continuous 5000mm length. Cutting knife and saw are not included. Alternative fixing methods are available for surfaces where adhesive is unsuitable.
