Description
A parked kerb is a daily obstacle for anything on wheels – delivery trolleys bump down it, vans clip it, and getting a car, sack truck or machine over it means either a jarring impact or an improvised plank. This heavy duty rubber kerb ramp solves the problem properly. Made from solid moulded rubber in a high-visibility black and yellow finish with light reflectors, it sits against the kerb face and turns the step into a smooth gradient that cars, vans, plant machinery and wheeled equipment can climb without drama. It comes in three heights – 100mm, 150mm and 200mm – as a single ramp, a pair, or a complete kit with end caps, with ground fixings for tarmac or concrete included in the box.
Why it works
Solid rubber takes the load. These ramps are rated up to 20,000kg depending on height, which is why they turn up in warehouses, industrial estates and yards where vehicles – not just trolleys – need to cross a kerb. The dense rubber body absorbs impact rather than cracking like plastic, shrugs off weather, and its weight keeps it planted while traffic passes over.
Cables and water pass underneath. Two channels are moulded into the underside – on the 100mm ramp they measure 32 x 29.5mm and 29.5 x 24.5mm, with larger 50 x 50mm and 40 x 40mm channels on the 200mm version – so extension leads, hoses and rainwater run below the ramp instead of over it, removing a trip hazard at the same time.
Seen before it's hit. The black body carries yellow chevron-style banding and light reflectors, so drivers spot the ramp at night and pedestrians register the change in level.
- Three heights: 100mm, 150mm and 200mm
- Rated 15,000–20,000kg depending on height
- Two cable and drainage channels beneath every ramp
- High-visibility black and yellow finish with reflectors
- Fixings for tarmac and concrete included
Where it's used
Warehouses and industrial estates use these ramps to run pallet loads and machinery over kerbed loading areas; delivery yards fix them at the kerb so trolleys and roll cages come off the tail-lift and straight up the pavement. They also earn their keep at home – easing a car over a dropped kerb lip onto a driveway, or getting a motorbike or mower into a garage or shed with a stepped threshold.

Choosing the right option
Match the ramp height to the kerb: measure from road surface to kerb top and pick the nearest height at or just above it – 100mm suits most standard UK kerbs, 150mm suits deep kerbs and container thresholds, and 200mm handles high steps and dock edges. Then choose the coverage. A single ramp suits a trolley route or a motorbike; a pair placed a wheel-track apart takes a car or van; the kit adds two angled end caps to a pair, closing off the exposed ends so wheels can approach at an angle and the edges are protected. Extra singles can be added side by side to cover any width. If wheelchair users will cross the ramp, note the gradient is steeper than access regulations recommend – a threshold ramp is the right product for that job.
Installation, use & care
Place the ramp tight against the kerb face on a clean, sound surface – its weight holds it for temporary use. For a permanent installation, fix it down through the pre-formed holes using the supplied fixings into tarmac or concrete. Route cables or hoses through the underside channels rather than over the top. Maintenance is a rinse or brush-down to keep the reflectors visible; the rubber itself needs no treatment and lives outdoors year-round.
Frequently asked questions
Will a pair take a car or van? Yes – place one ramp in each wheel track. With ratings of 15,000–20,000kg per ramp, cars, vans and light plant are comfortably within capacity.
Can wheelchairs or pallet trucks use it? It is not recommended – the kerb-climbing gradient is too steep for wheelchairs, pallet trucks and forklifts. Use a dedicated threshold ramp with a shallower gradient instead.
Do I have to fix it down? No. The rubber's weight holds it in place for temporary use; the supplied fixings are for permanent siting on tarmac or concrete.
What is in the kit? Two ramps plus two angled end caps – enough to span both wheel tracks with finished, protected ends.
Ordering & delivery
Choose the height, then Single, Pair, Kit or a spare End Cap from the options above; sections can be combined to cover wider entrances. Sold per section or set as described – check your kerb height before ordering.
