Description
Queue management only looks tidy when the barrier disappears into the wall the moment it is not needed, and this wall mounted retractable belt post does exactly that. A polished stainless steel housing holds a 2.5 metre retractable webbing belt that pulls out to form a barrier line and locks in place, then retracts fully into the housing when the queue is over.
The housing is a brushed stainless steel cylinder on a compact black wall bracket, fixed with the supplied screws and wall plugs suited to most wall types. The belt itself is a heavy-duty woven webbing, available in blue or black, that extends smoothly to its full 2.5 metre length and locks with a simple push-button release on the end clip. It fixes to a second wall-mounted unit, a compatible stanchion post, or any suitable fixed anchor point to complete the barrier line.
Why it works
- Stainless steel housing – durable, corrosion-resistant finish for long-term indoor use
- 2.5 metre retractable belt – reaches further than standard 2m units for wider openings
- Push-button locking clip – extends and retracts smoothly, locks securely in place
- Compact wall-mount bracket – frees up floor space compared with a freestanding post
- Two belt colours – blue or black to suit different interiors and branding
Where it's used
These posts are fitted at cinema and theatre entrances, retail queue points, airport and transport terminals, corporate reception areas, banks and hotel lobbies, wherever a barrier needs to be permanently mounted but only visible when in use. Wall mounting suits narrower corridors and doorways where a floor-standing stanchion would be in the way, and pairs well with matching floor stanchions to form a full queue lane.

Choosing the right belt colour: black gives a discreet, formal look that suits corporate lobbies, banks and hotels, while blue offers stronger visual contrast and is a common choice for retail and transport settings where the barrier line needs to stand out. Both colours use the identical stainless steel housing and 2.5 metre belt mechanism, so the choice is purely aesthetic.
Installation, use and care
Mark the fixing holes using the bracket as a template, drill and insert the supplied wall plugs, then screw the bracket securely to the wall at the desired height, typically around 900mm to 1000mm from the floor. To use, pull the belt clip out to the required length and clip it to the matching post or anchor point; press the release button to retract. Wipe the stainless steel housing with a soft cloth and check the belt mechanism periodically for smooth extension and retraction.
Frequently asked questions
Can this be fixed to any wall type?
The supplied screws and wall plugs suit most masonry and stud walls; for tiled or hollow walls, use fixings appropriate to that surface.
What does the belt attach to at the other end?
It clips to a second wall-mounted unit, a compatible floor-standing stanchion, or any other suitable fixed anchor point with a matching receiver clip.
Is the belt length fixed at 2.5 metres?
Yes, this model extends to a maximum of 2.5 metres; shorter runs are achieved simply by not extending the belt fully.
