Description
Cove Formers and Capping Strips
In kitchens, wet rooms, hospitals and food production areas, the wall-to-floor junction is where dirt collects and water gets in. Coved vinyl solves that by curving the floor up the wall in one continuous sheet, leaving no seam at floor level to trap contamination.
A cove former is the shaped fillet, usually PVC or timber, fixed into the corner to create the radius the vinyl bends around. A capping strip finishes the top edge of the coved vinyl against the wall, sealing it and giving a clean horizontal line.
Together they produce a hygienic, easy-clean detail that can be mopped or hosed without water tracking behind the flooring. It is a standard specification in healthcare, catering, laboratory and pharmaceutical environments, and increasingly used in domestic wet rooms.
Profiles are supplied in standard lengths with matching internal and external corner pieces, in PVC finishes to suit common vinyl colours. Fixing is by adhesive to a clean, sound substrate. Cut with a fine saw or sharp knife. UK stock with fast delivery and technical advice on request.
