Frequently Asked Questions
Can this stair nosing be used outside in all weather conditions?
This aluminium stair nosing is suitable for outdoor use when correctly installed onto a sound substrate and maintained regularly. In exposed areas, ensure that fixings and sealants are appropriate for external conditions and that the slip-resistant insert is kept clean to maintain performance.
How do I choose the correct length for my stairs?
Measure the full width of each step and select the nearest standard length from the options available: 1.0 m, 1.5 m, 2.0 m, 2.46 m, 2.77 m or 3.22 m. If required, the nosing can be cut down on site using appropriate metal-cutting tools to achieve an exact fit.
Which insert colour should I use for better visibility?
For enhanced step definition, a high-contrast insert such as yellow or white is often preferred, especially in dimly lit areas. Black and dolphin grey provide a more subtle appearance while still offering slip resistance and improved edge protection.
