WHY CHOOSE THIS BLACK GRP STAIR NOSING
- 🏗️ 3mm GRP — 10+ Year Service Life — glass reinforced plastic is corrosion-proof, UV-stable and unaffected by weather, chemicals or constant moisture
- ✅ Impregnated Quartz Grit — Permanent Anti-Slip — grit fused into the GRP during manufacture; cannot wear away, wash off or peel
- ⬛ Black — Discreet Professional Finish — suits contemporary interiors, dark-toned staircases, industrial environments and marine applications where yellow would be visually intrusive
- 🔩 Bond or Screw Fix — Permanent Installation — rated for outdoor, marine, industrial and high-traffic commercial applications
- 🌧️ Corrosion-Proof, Flame Retardant, UV Stable — performs on external exposed stairs, boat decks, dock edges and offshore platforms
Black GRP Anti-Slip Stair Nosing — Full Specification
This black 55mm × 55mm GRP stair nosing provides the same certified anti-slip performance and 10+ year service life as the yellow version — in a discreet black finish suited to contemporary interiors, industrial settings, marine environments and anywhere the high-visibility yellow of DDA-compliance nosings would be aesthetically or practically inappropriate.
The 55mm × 55mm equal L-profile covers both the step tread (55mm horizontal) and the step riser (55mm vertical), providing comprehensive step edge protection with impregnated quartz grit anti-slip surface on the tread face. The same GRP construction makes it fully corrosion-proof and UV-stable — suitable for industrial chemical environments, marine applications and exposed external stairs where aluminium nosings would corrode.

- Marine and coastal — boat steps, pontoons, dock access, marina walkways
- Offshore platforms — corrosion-proof performance in salt spray environments
- External fire escape stairs — permanent grip without high-visibility yellow marking
- Food processing and chemical environments — corrosion-proof against cleaning chemicals
How to Install
- Cut to length. Mark and cut with an angle grinder and diamond disc. Wear PPE.
- Clean and prepare. Remove dust and grease from the step surface.
- Fix: Bond with structural polyurethane adhesive, or screw fix at 200-300mm centres with stainless steel screws.
- Repeat per step. Work from bottom upward for cleanest installation sequence.
Select your length above — 1m suits most standard UK stair widths, 750mm for narrow stairs. The 3m and 3.6m Pack of 5 options offer best value for full staircase projects.
