What does rake back mean and how do I know if I need it?
A rake back profile has a recessed underside on the riser face, allowing it to sit flush against stairs where the riser is set slightly back from the nosing edge. If your stair tread overhangs the riser, a rake back nosing gives a clean, gap-free fit. If the riser is flush or square, a standard square-back profile is more appropriate.
Can this nosing be cut down from the 3.22m length?
Yes. The 3.22m stock length is designed to be cut on site to match individual tread widths. Use a suitable metal-cutting saw or mitre saw, and deburr all cut edges before installation to ensure a safe, clean finish.
Which insert colour should I choose for maximum visibility?
For the strongest contrast against most floor finishes, Hazard (yellow/black), Red, or Premium Black are the most effective choices. High-contrast nosings are particularly recommended in public buildings and commercial settings to assist users with reduced vision.
Are fixings included with the stair nosing?
No, fixings are not supplied. The profile is mechanically fixed using screws and plugs drilled on site to suit the substrate. The type and size of fixing required will depend on the stair construction material — timber, concrete, steel, etc.

At this price, the durability really stands out. The strip sits snugly against our kitchens wooden floor and has held up wonderfully under daily café hustle. Once we fitted the stair nosing, its been rock solid—never once felt like it was going to budge!
Job done. Needed something reliable for the library’s concrete steps, and far costlier options werent in the budget. This nosing gets the job done without breaking the bank, easily handled foot traffic day-in, day-out. Best part? The stair nosing snapped into place nicely.
Had to sort out the wear on our hotel’s main lobby stairs; this trim blends gracefully with our decor and has proven its worth against daily footfall. Dead easy to slot in, it matched perfectly with existing fittings, holding up splendidly under relentless use even when it rains.
Came securely packaged, fitting perfectly onto the stairs at our local mall. The cover provides such peace of mind, maintaining great grip even on rainy days when foot traffic peaks. Far better value than I initially thought for ensuring safe use in busy conditions.
Wasnt sure at first, but the packaging was solid and kept it in perfect condition during delivery. Fitted this onto a set of warehouse stairs where safety is key, and its been dependable ever since. The aluminium stair nosing was easy to attach and has stood up well even with constant foot traffic.
Installed it a few months back on the entrance steps of our office building, and it’s lasting brilliantly amidst all sorts of British weather. The aluminium has held up incredibly well, providing that necessary edge protection while still looking fresh as ever. I wouldnt hesitate to order the same again for future projects.
Got this to tidy up the stairs in my cafe. The neat finish of this aluminium beauty really brings a sharp, professional edge to our trusty wood steps. More than just protecting the treads, the stair nosing ties the whole look together beautifully—couldn’t be more pleased with how it looks!
Fantastic little addition to our library stairs! The stair nosing was a doddle to cut down to size with a hacksaw, and fitting it onto the steps was just as straightforward. Guests have noticed how tidy and safe the entrance looks now, and I love that we could swap in different slip-resistant inserts if needed down the line.
