This is the same dovetail non-slip insert as our 1m, 1.5m and 2m stock lengths, cut here to the exact millimetre you specify between 250mm and 2700mm, tolerance plus or minus 5mm.
What it is
A tapered insert strip designed to be captured by a matching routed groove rather than relying on adhesive alone. Because the groove is narrower at the surface than at its base, the strip is trapped by its own geometry and cannot lift even if the bond is later compromised by water or cleaning chemicals. That is why it is specified on external steps and in wash-down areas where a flat-backed strip peels.
Why cut to size
A dovetail strip is fed into its groove from one end, so the length has to be right: too long and it will not seat, too short and the end of the groove is left open. Workshop cutting gives clean square ends at the exact length.

Width and price
Enter the width you need, from 12mm to 60mm, measured across the widest face of the strip. Wider strips use more material, so the price per metre steps up in six bands: 12–25mm, 26–35mm, 36–45mm, 46–50mm, 51–55mm and 56–60mm. The matching band is selected for you as you type your width, and the price shown updates to suit.
Measuring and ordering
Measure each tread individually. Rout the groove to match the dovetail section; a parallel-sided groove defeats the profile. Feed the strip in from one end rather than pressing it down flat. Custom lengths are non-returnable except for faults. Standard UK mainland delivery is a flat rate.
