Description
Brass is expensive to waste. This is the same 63mm x 55mm ridged brass nosing as our 1m, 1.5m and 2m stock bars, cut here to the exact millimetre you specify between 250mm and 2800mm, tolerance plus or minus 5mm.
What it is
Solid brass with grip ribs machined into the metal itself, and a deep 55mm riser face that covers the front of the step generously. There is no separate insert to work loose or discolour at a different rate from the carrier. The honest trade-off: machined ribs give less wet grip than a carborundum insert, so on a wet entrance an insert profile is the better answer.
Why cut to size
A skewed hand cut shows badly against a wall string on a premium stair, and a brass offcut is money on the floor. Workshop cutting gives clean square ends and lets you order every step to its own measurement.

Measuring and ordering
Measure each tread at the front edge and measure every step. Between two walls take 3mm to 5mm off. Check the riser is flat enough for a 55mm face to bear against. Custom lengths are non-returnable except for faults. Allow additional working days over a stock bar; standard UK mainland delivery is a flat rate.
