Brass is expensive to waste and unpleasant to cut square by hand. This is the same 83mm x 40mm ramped brass nosing as our 1m, 1.5m and 2m stock bars, cut here to the exact millimetre you specify between 250mm and 2750mm, tolerance plus or minus 5mm.
A heavy section of solid brass with a carborundum grit insert in the tread face and a ramped rear edge that lands onto an existing floor covering without leaving a lip. Aluminium oxide grit in resin is the hardest of the common anti-slip infills: it does not burnish smooth like a ribbed PVC insert and cannot peel like a bonded tape.
A brass offcut is money on the floor, and a skewed hand cut shows badly against a wall string on a premium stair. Workshop cutting gives clean square ends and lets you order every step to its own measurement. This is also the way to order the 2.75 m length, which is not on the stock-length listing.

Measure each tread at the front edge and measure every step. Between two walls take 3mm to 5mm off so the bar drops in without scraping. Custom lengths are made to your figures and are non-returnable except for faults. Allow additional working days over a stock bar; standard UK mainland delivery is a flat rate.

Wasnt sure at first if it would be the right size, but went ahead and ordered. Arrived in solid packaging—no bends or scrapes, which was a relief given the last brass order I had infamously turned up mangled!
