End Caps for Light-Down and Light-Out LED Stair Nosings, Pack of 2

These matt silver end caps close the open ends of our screw-fixed LED stair nosings, in a pack of two. Choose the light-down version for the light-down LED stair nosing with its 76.5mm tread and 26mm riser leg, or the light-out version for the light-out LED stair nosing with its 77.5mm tread and 48.5mm riser leg. Each cap follows the profile's shape and covers the LED channel, so the cut end of every nosing looks finished and the tape inside is protected. They are the finishing part for contractors, facilities teams and homeowners fitting lit nosings to existing concrete, timber or tiled stairs.

Why it works

A finished end on every step

LED nosings are cut to the width of each step. On steps with an open side, or where the nosing stops short of a wall, the cut end shows the hollow LED channel and the end of the tape. An end cap closes it with a neat matt silver face that matches the nosing.

Protects the LED channel

Covering the channel end keeps dust, cleaning water and debris out of the space where the tape sits, and stops the tape end being caught or pulled.

Made for the profile

Each cap is shaped for one profile, light-down or light-out, so it follows the tread, the insert channel and the riser leg rather than leaving gaps. Order the version for the nosing you are fitting.

Where it's used

Open-sided steps and landings in offices, schools, hotels and public buildings. Feature staircases in bars and restaurants where the step ends are on show. Communal stairwells in flats where nosings stop short of the walls. Any step where the cut end of an LED nosing would otherwise be visible.

Choosing the right option

Choose the version that matches the nosing: light-down for the 76.5mm light-down profile that lights the riser below, light-out for the 77.5mm light-out profile with the tall 48.5mm riser leg. The caps are not interchangeable between the two. Then count the open ends: every step end that is not tight against a wall needs a cap, so a staircase open on one side needs one cap per step and a staircase open on both sides needs two per step. Each pack contains two caps. For our tile-in LED nosing, use its own tile-in end caps instead.

Installation, use and care

Cut the nosing to length, deburr the cut end and fit the LED tape and diffuser. Then fit the end cap to the cut end, making sure it seats fully against the profile. Clean with a soft cloth and a pH-neutral detergent, and avoid abrasive or acidic cleaners that could mark the finish.
