RGB Smart Adapter for LED Stair Lighting

This RGB smart adapter brings voice and smartphone control to a colour-changing LED staircase. Used with our RGB LED tape and the remote-ready 12V LED driver, it lets you turn the stair lights on and off, set the brightness and change the colour through a compatible smart speaker, smart hub or phone. It is compatible with Alexa and Zigbee, so the staircase can join the rest of a smart home: lights on as you get home, a set colour for an evening, or off at bedtime with everything else. Choose it for feature staircases in homes, bars and venues where the lighting is part of the design.

Control without a handset

Handheld remotes get lost. A smart adapter puts the stair lighting into the app or voice assistant you already use, so anyone in the building can switch, dim or change the colour without finding a remote.

Uses the driver you already need

The adapter does not set the power limit itself; the wattage is set by the driver it is used with. Size the remote-ready driver to the tape as normal and the adapter controls whatever the driver supplies.

Choosing the right option

This adapter is for RGB tape only; it is not made for natural white or tunable white tape. Check that your home already has a compatible smart speaker or hub, or plan to add one, because voice and app control run through it. Then size the remote-ready driver from the tape: multiply the metres of RGB tape by 14.4W and choose the next driver size up. If you would rather use a handset, or want separate zones, our single-zone remote or multi-zone receivers are the alternatives; the multi-zone receivers also offer app and voice control.

Installation, use and care

Install the adapter with the remote-ready driver in a dry, ventilated and permanently accessible position, such as a ceiling void or under-stairs cupboard. The mains side of the driver must be fitted by a qualified electrician. Once powered, add the adapter to your smart hub or app following the instructions supplied, name it, and include it in your routines. Keep it clear of insulation and dust.

A: No. It is made for RGB tape. For white tape with app control, use the multi-zone receiver.
