Multi-Zone Receiver for LED Stair Lighting, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth, Natural White

This multi-zone receiver lets you control the lighting on a lit staircase in up to four separate zones, from a handheld remote, a smartphone app or your voice. Fit one receiver per lighting zone, power it from the remote-ready 12V LED driver, plug in the tape, and the stairs, landing and hallway can each be set on their own. It is made in three versions to match our natural white tape and our tunable white and RGB tape, and pairs with our multi-zone remote. Choose it when one switch or one single-zone remote is not enough: larger homes, hotels, restaurants and any project with more than one flight.

Why it works

Separate control for each area

A staircase rarely stands alone. The lower flight, the landing and the upper flight are often used at different times, and a commercial building may want the main stair bright while a back stair stays dim. Each receiver is set to a zone, so the remote can dim, switch or recolour one area without touching the others. Up to four zones and three saved scenes are available from one remote.

Remote, app or voice

The receiver is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth compatible. Use it with the handheld multi-zone remote, or connect it to a smartphone and smart devices for app and voice control. That makes it easy to set evening scenes, turn the stair lights off from bed, or include them in a wider smart-home routine.

Sized for real staircases

The natural white version handles up to 288W and the tunable white and RGB versions up to 720W, comfortably above what one 12V driver run supplies. You can also add zones later, as the project grows.

Choosing the right option

Choose the version that matches your tape: natural white for natural white tape, tunable white for tunable white tape and RGB for RGB tape. Then count your zones. Every area you want to control on its own needs its own receiver and its own remote-ready driver, so a staircase with a lower flight, landing and upper flight controlled separately needs three of each. If one zone has more tape than one driver can run, several receivers can be set to the same zone so they act together. Finally, add a multi-zone remote in the same version, or plan to use the app. For a single area with one remote, our single-zone remote and controller is the simpler choice.

Installation, use and care

Mount each receiver beside its driver in a dry, ventilated and permanently accessible position, such as an under-stairs cupboard or ceiling void. Connect the driver's 12V output to the receiver, connect the tape, then pair the receiver to its zone on the remote or app following the instructions supplied. The mains side of every driver must be installed by a qualified electrician. Keep the receivers clear of insulation and dust.

Q: Do I need a remote?
A: No. The receiver can be run from a smartphone app or voice control on its own, but most people add the multi-zone remote for everyday use.
