Description
Aluminium Stair Nosing End Caps are the precision-moulded left and right finishing caps that give every aluminium stair nosing profile a clean, professional, fully terminated look. Designed to plug the open end of the channel where a nosing meets a wall string, skirting board, or open stair edge, these caps stop dust, grit and moisture from collecting inside the profile and remove the sharp exposed aluminium edge that bare-cut nosing leaves behind.
Sold as a matching left and right pair, these end caps are manufactured to fit the exact tread-face heights used across our most popular aluminium stair nosing ranges — 20mm, 32mm, 42mm and 65mm — and are available in five anodised finishes (Silver, Black, Gold, Champagne and Inox) so you can match your existing stair nosing exactly, whether it was fitted last week or five years ago.
Why Fit End Caps?
- Removes the trip and snag hazard of a bare-cut aluminium edge at the open end of a nosing run
- Keeps out dirt, moisture and insects that would otherwise collect inside the hollow profile channel
- Finishes the job properly — the difference between a DIY-looking staircase and a professionally finished one
- Colour-matched to your exact nosing finish, so the cap disappears into the profile rather than standing out
- No tools needed — a simple push-fit spigot holds the cap firmly in the channel

Choosing the Right Size
End cap size refers to the visible tread-face height of your fitted stair nosing, not the length of the nosing bar itself. Measure the height of the vertical face of your nosing profile (the part visible on the front of the step) and choose the closest matching size below. If you are fitting new nosing at the same time, simply match the cap size to the nosing profile you are ordering.
Installation Guide
Wipe the open end of the nosing channel clean and dry. Identify whether you need a left or right cap by checking which side of the staircase the open end faces. Push the cap's spigot firmly into the channel until the cap face sits flush against the end of the profile. For stairs with very heavy daily footfall, a small dab of clear all-purpose adhesive on the spigot before fitting will add extra long-term security.
