Description
Give swings, slides and climbing frames a genuinely safe landing surface with these interlocking rubber playground safety tiles. Independently tested to BS EN 1177 for impact attenuation, each tile absorbs the shock of a fall far more effectively than grass, tarmac or bark, reducing the risk of serious head injury beneath play equipment.
Every 50 x 50cm tile is moulded from dense, weatherproof recycled rubber and simply clicks together with hidden dowel connectors – no specialist tools or adhesive needed for a standard DIY installation, though outdoor adhesive can be used around the perimeter for a fully permanent commercial fit. The textured top surface stays grippy underfoot even when soaking wet, and the tiles won't rot, splinter or harbour broken glass the way bark or loose fill can.
Match the thickness to your fall height
- 20mm – general safety flooring for patios, walkways and low-level play (not BS EN 1177 fall-rated)
- 30mm – BS EN 1177 certified critical fall height of 1.0m, suited to swings, small slides and low climbers
- 40mm – BS EN 1177 certified critical fall height of 1.3m, suited to taller climbing frames and play towers
Always match the tile's certified critical fall height to the highest accessible point of your play equipment.
Available in four colours
Black, Green, Red and Grey – mix and match to create colour-zoned play areas, checkerboard patterns, or simple pathways and borders.
Ideal for
- Home gardens, nurseries, schools and community playgrounds
- Underneath swings, slides, climbing frames and trampolines
- Patios, terraces and walkways needing a soft, slip-resistant surface
